The Miami SEO Company reviews plan that we offer for reputation management is very popular among clients. Perhaps there is a disgruntled client who left a bad review about your business and its now causing you to lose business. I know, I’ve heard it time after time from various clients in various scenarios in fact, as the top internet marketing company in Miami, I probably hear this same story once a day. Unfortunately, Google has a vulnerability that puts your reputaion at stake, and sites like Pissed Consumer, Rip Off Report and several other sites are monetizing from this monopolistic-like business that has developed from this vulnerability. It’s truly a evil business, these websites don’t serve the true purpose they are meant to serve which is creating a legitimate review site for customers to do research. Instead these website are willing to remove the negative results for the right price. What is the right price? Well you can bet your ass that if you’re a local plumber it wont cost as much as say someone who owns a huge enterprise company.

So how do these websites manage to get their pages to show up so high on the search engine results when you do a search for your name or company name? It’s simple really, they have a huge website that is extremely popular so right away when ever they create a new page it already stands a great chance at showing up for what ever keywords are used. The sneaky developers of these website manage to include keywords which are usually just your brand name in the URL, headings, titles, meta descriptions and basically all the other places that search engine algorithms look for keywords. They basically have a huge SEO friendly site that automatically will show up on the first page when ever a new review page is create for any company. Search engines like Google will find the keywords in all the areas they algorithmic-ally scan and then of course they will also notice fresh new reviews and social activity which also helps the pages show up on search results.

What Can You do to Stop This Madness?

Taking The Legal Route

Well there are a few ways, one would be to try and sue them (good luck) which I don’t advise. Many of our clients have tried and have gotten no where, below are some great links to read if you’re planning on taking the legal route.

Using SEO to Protect Your Reputation

SEO is the only other way to really protect yourself against this sort of scenario. It’s a simple technique which involves SEO’ing 10 or 20 web properties to show up for keywords related to your brand name or company name. In theory you are just demoting the negative reviews to the second or third page of the search results (which is why I mentioned either 10 or 20 we properties). Once you have your web properties up, you can start to optimize each property for the keywords you wish to protect. Once you optimize each web property enough, they will our-rank the negative results that show up on Google.

Now this is a process that is tricky and you aren’t familiar with the SEO basics then you may want to call a professional SEO company to help you or to consult with you. Otherwise, you can read this post which hopefully will allow you to do the job yourself.

Planning Your Reputation Management Campaign

Fortunately, we are an Google partner company so when it comes to SEO, we are one of the top SEO and PPC management companies in the nation. I say this because many scam companies out there are offering reputation management services but they don’t work and you will end up wasting your money. Be careful and do your research before ever hiring any SEO company, I wrote a great post on how to choose a professional SEO company which I encourage you to read before ever hiring a marketing company to help you with anything related to search engines. So like all SEO campaigns the first thing you’re going to need to do identify which keywords you want to show up for, or in this case, which keywords your bad reviews are already showing up for. So it’s the opposite approach in terms of how you identify keywords because you are trying to demote not promote URL’s. So what you need to do is find out how people are finding you with Google Analytics by drilling down into your keyword reports. You can get tons of brand focused keyword ideas from your keyword reports and then check them manually to see which keywords are pulling the negative results from pissed consumer or rip off report (or any other site that you want removed).

Once your keyword list is finalized, you will need to start building your web properties and optimizing them along the way. This means following all best practices for SEO from on-page SEO to off-page SEO. There are many ways to go about getting many web properties for free that will share the page authority of an existing site like HubPages.com or Squidoo.com. You can also use social media sites and optimize them for brand search terms so that they show up on Google instead of the negative reviews. Here at The Miami SEO Company we use a list of the top page rank web 2.0 sites out there as well as creating social sites on the top social sites that are indexed on Google so that we can promote those 10 or 20 web properties to the top of the results page using the leverage of the websites (i.e. Hubpages account, Facebook business page, Youtube Channel, Linkedin Company page or even a WordPress blog) already existing authority. Below are a few screen shots of our client E Floor Trade which less than 3 months ago had a ton or horrible reviews online when you searched “e floor trade” or “e floor trade llc” (or many other related search queries) and this was causing their business to suffer greatly. Now if you Google their name you see all of the web properties which belong E Floor Trade dominating the first page!

Using Powerful Sites As Leverage

The trick to keeping bad reviews from showing up on the SERP’s is to always have at least 10 web properties that are so powerfully optimized that review sites never stand a chance at ranking on page one when searches are made for your name or your companies name. There are a lot SEO practices that you have to implement if you really want to be certain that you will not be defamed but if your online reputation is important to you, it may be worth the time to execute this type of strategy. The top web properties that we recommend using are:

1. Facebook Fan Page
2. Google + business page
3. Youtube channel
4. Linkedin Company Page
5. Company or personal website
6. WordPress blog
7. Hub Pages profile or Hub.
8. Pinterest account
9. Twitter account
10. Kudzu account.

REPUTATION MANAGEMENT SERVICES - PROTECT YOUR ONLINE REPUTATION

Optimizing Your Web Properties

Creating your web properties is not going to be enough, you are going to need to SEO them so that Google views them as relevant results for the keywords you wish to protect yourself against negative reviews from. In order to do this, you must follow all the SEO practices you would normally do if your were engaging in search engine marketing (organically). This means ensuring your site has the priority keywords in your Titles, URLs, descriptions, content, image alt tags and much more. This also means that all of your web properties need to be updated regularly with content to mimic or out-weigh the amount of updated content the negative review sites are generating. Your web properties will also need links built to them on a regular basis, not crappy link farm links that cause sites to get penalized, GOOD links. If you don’t know the difference between good back linking strategies and bad back linking then you are probably better off calling an SEO company.

Tracking Your Success

Unfortunately, SEO companies don’t offer guarantees and if they do it’s a tall tale sign that they are a scam. Don’t beleive me? Google will tell you this if you Google “Do I need an SEO“, click on the result from Google’s support page and there you will find a page written by Google explaining that any company that offers a guarantee should not be trusted.

The only way to protect your brand online is to prevent anything bad from showing up online and this is the best way to do it. But how to you track your success if you’re paying an SEO company to do this for you? Well, it’s simple really. Identifying the keywords which yeild the negative results should have been completed if you followed my steps so all you would need to do is check the rankings for the negative results according to the position they rank for the keywords you are trying to protect yourself with. If you pull a rank report using any rank report software you would just track the URL of the negative URL for the keywords you are focusing on and we do just that for our clients. Below is an example of the reports we use to monitor reputation management projects. As you can see the negative result is no where near the first page.
