PPC experts in Miami are not easy to find and surely don’t come a cheap cost if you’re looking to hire one to work for you but there are other options for those in need of some help. The important thing to consider when searching for someone highly qualified to manage your Adwords account is that persons qualification & experience. Many individuals claim to be SEO experts and such, but few can actually prove it. Some of the common achievements, certifications and experience that you should look for in a pay per click expert in Miami are:

  • Active Google Partner Status
  • MCC Account Owner With Multiple Client Accounts Showing Strong Performance.
  • Active Google Adwords Fundamentals Exam Certification
  • Active Google Adwords Search Advertising Certification
  • Active Google Adwords Display Advertising Certification
  • Active Google Adwords Video Advertising Certification
  • Active Google Adwords Shopping Advertising Certification
  • Active Google Adwords Mobile Advertising Certification
  • Google Analytics Certification
  • Google Analytics Ecommerce Certification
  • Referrals and testimonials from active clients.
  • US Search Award Nominee or Winner of any PPC Performance Award.

If you are talking to someone about PPC, ask them to send you a screen shot of their Google Partners profile where you can see their active certifications and partnership verification like the screen shot below:

Any person who can prove they are in possession of all Google Adwords certifications, Analytics certifications and that also has the ability to provide customer testimonials / references is a true pro. Top it off with the ability to show you active campaigns with great performance and you’re on the right track. For those of you who are not familiar with Google Adwords marketing, you might want to consider at least learning the basics of how it work or even taking a Google Adwords learning course that explains how to setup and manage a Google Adwords account successfully. This is helpful for those vetting potential PPC management companies or individuals to help you with your SEM efforts. I’ll breifly explain how Google Adwords works with Google Analytics so that you can look at an active campaign and gauge the effectiveness of it with ease.

How to Quickly Analyze the Performance of a Pay-Per-Click Account

Understanding Pay Per Click Marketing vs SEO (Natural Results)

For those of you who are brand new to pay per click marketing with Google Adwords let’s go over the basics. First off when ever you search for something on Google like “law firm in Miami” for example, you often will find 3 types of results on Google. In the screen shot below I’ve highlighted each type of result. The first ads above everything else are known as paid ads (aka sponsored ads) because you literally have to pay to be there, this is where advertisers like yourself can show up using the Google Adwords management software platform. You can control which keywords you show up for and how much you’re willing to pay to show up there. The amount you offer to pay for each click will determine how high up in the rankings you show. For example if I setup an account and offer to pay 60$ per click on the keyword “law firm Miami”, then the next person will need to offer a higher amount to show up above me (assuming everything else is the same between the other advertiser and myself regarding the website quality and account structure).

The other results highlighted in the screen shot above are not pay per click ads, they are simply the most relevant results that Google can find. Google shows Google maps business listings above the standard website based results for most keywords that have a city or state name in it but to show up there requires a lot of search engine optimization which is a completely different type of search engine marketing all together.

Tracking Success of Your Pay Per Click Campaigns

Tracking performance is the most critical part of a PPC experts role as an account manager. They must be able to report the important numbers such as cost, number of leads generated (i.e. phone calls, form submissions, quote requests etc) and revenue generated from your website if its an online store that you’re dealing with. Google Adwords makes over 40 billion dollars per year in revenue and it is for that reason that they provide a very robust tracking software for advertisers that engage in pay-per-click marketing. When setup correctly, you can literally see the cost of each keyword you’re using as an advertiser as well as the number of calls, form submissions or even revenue amount generated from each keyword. By using Javascript tracking, Google can track each visitor very closely to see what keyword they used to find you, which location they are in, what time they entered your website, which pages they went to and even has the ability to track the phone calls visitors make when calling the number on your website (pretty scary but its true, Google can do all of this).

When someone like myself or another PPC expert in Miami takes the time to setup all of these tracking parameters, you can easily find out if your pay per click budget is generating a good enough return for you to keep doing it or not. Below is an example of a Google Adwords Account with tracking setup for calls, transactions and form submissions too. The report shows the cost spent on each campaign and the cost per conversion (cost / number of conversions). Conversions are simply a name for goals you set up in your account such as phone calls, form submissions or transactions.

What to Ask an Adwords Expert in Miami Before Hiring Them

So now that you know a thing or two about Google Adwords performance tracking and how it works, its time to start hunting. When you do find a candidate here are some questions you should be asking:

    • Can you show me a report showing cost, conversions and cost per conversion for an account over the last 30 days?
    • Can you show me your active Google Certifications in your Google Partners profile?
    • Can you please have an active client email me or call me to explain how things have been going while working with you?
    • Can you show me a report that shows conversion rate increasing over time for more than one account?

If you have someone that can provide all of this without hesitation, it’s likely they’re competent in Adwords marketing enough to do the job. If they show hesitation or try to tell you that those things are important, they’re lying and likely not going to give you a good experience with Google Adwords marketing. Engaging in pay per click marketing isn’t cheap, so you better make sure you are in good hands when you hire someone to setup and manage your Adwords account. Furthermore, every web designer and person who is an active internet user claims to know how to do SEO & PPC but few actually know how to do it right. Hopefully after reading this blog post you are educated enough to know whether or not someone is just over promising the world or actually capable of delivering the promised results they’re offering.
