11 of the Latest Video Marketing Tools Not to Miss in 2016

By Jason Hawkins on December 28, 2015

As the new year approaches, you are probably thinking about different tools and strategies that you can add to your current marketing efforts in order to really take 2016 to a new level of success. I have spent the last few months scanning the web and trying out new video marketing tool reviews, soon-to-be releases, and the newest platforms that can help you get advanced, and while some of these have been around a while, they may not be on your radar yet.

Side note: As a marketing agency, we primarily deal with video marketing in terms of how it translates to social media and email marketing strategies, so if you’re interested in not only using new video marketing tools but actually using them for something specific, hiring an agency really can help make sure you’re on the right path and getting the results you want so you’re not jumping in blindly. And so without further ado, below are 11 of the latest marketing tools not to miss in 2016:

Animoto

This video tool uses all of your own unique photos, videos, and other visual media to create great videos in a very streamline and easy way. Using your business’ existing or purpose-driven visual media, you can create awesome marketing videos to promote through social media, email, or on your website.

Camtasia

This tool is actually installed software that is available for both PC and Mac. Camtasia is claimed to be the market leader in the screen capture video world. As you probably are aware if you have ever seen an online presentation or screencast for marketing purposes, screencast videos are one of the best ways to demonstrate how something online works.

Common Craft

One thing you want to consider when you are making video marketing materials for your company is all of the different ways that you can make your visual story unique. Common Craft uses white boards paper cutouts for the visuals to tell your story. This format is definitely great for holding people’s attention and is also a great way to simplify complex ideas.

Filmora

Filmier was previously known as Wondershare Video Editor and was recently changed to the new and improved name of “Filmora”. This tool is again installed software, which allows you to perform a variety of edits. Although it is a paid software tool, it comes packed with a lot of features and has a very intuitive interface.

GoAnimate

Go Animate is one of my favorites that I’ve tried out (the 14 day trial was definitely an incentive to do so). You can create full-feature animated movies using characters and sets of your choosing. As you are probably aware, animation can be a really powerful way to tell your story in a unique manner, and this platform is definitely the way to do it.

Magistro

Do you need to take a bunch of raw footage and make a short film? This tool is able to pick out what it deems as the best of the raw footage you upload to create a short video for your company. From here, you can add your own text and music to produce a short film with only a little time on hand. Reviews seem to say that this application actually does an amazing job at piecing together a film, but keep in mind that there may be raw footage that works better than others.

Prezi

Prezi is definitely the hot platform for presentations in the last couple of years. The tool is completely online and you are able to use the platform features to zoom, pan and fly around the presentation which creates a really dynamic feel. The site has a ton of examples, and using screen capture, you can create a really great marketing video out of your presentation.

Sellamations

While this is an extremely awesome video marketing program, the caveat is that it is on the expensive side. Sellamations creates doodle videos, and these videos feature a hand drawing out your story with a marker in high-speed capture. The videos that are produced are extremely captivating and completely original and it is one of the top rated programs going into next year. However, at $297/ minute of the video, you may need to readjust your budget to accommodate for it.

Viewbix

Viewbix is probably my favorite tool in terms of social media video marketing and advertising. With Viewbix you are able to create a video advertisement in just three steps, which they claim only takes an average of five minutes. All you need to do to this program is add a link to your video, which brands your video by inserting your logo and call-to-action buttons, and lastly choosing social media sites. This is really the perfect presentation for generating new leads and getting people interested in your business.

Wideo

Wideo is also a great to create online video promotional material for your company. This platform gives you the option to personalize many different aspects of video content by adding your logo, images or customized background music. There are also a variety of pre-made templates that will allow you to get started without having to work from the ground up. Wideo also has professional graphics designers on staff if you don’t have someone designing for you in house, but want something tailored and unique. You can create short videos, up to 45 seconds for free. If you want to create longer vides the pricing ranges from $9 to $39 per month.

YouTube Editor

If you already use YouTube (with it being so connected to Google, you likely already have an account set up for your business without even knowing it) this is definitely one of my favorite free tools that I found over the course of researching video marketing tools. Especially if you are already using YouTube to host and stream your videos or you can easily upload them, it gives you some great editing capability right in YouTube’s platform. As a bonus, you are also able to add annotations and transcripts to your videos, which will make them more SEO friendly.

The Takeaway

There are definitely a lot of platforms available to help with video marketing, some which have been around for a while, and some that are just now gaining popularity as we move into 2016. With all these tools on hand, you can without a doubt make 2016 the best year for visual marketing yet.
